I was never particularly excited about this holiday except as a day off from school. My kids, however, love all national observances, commemorative days, and holidays. Plus, my eldest daughter is fascinated by rulers and leaders (
note:
not the same thing). She has read much of the
Civipedia in Civilization (computer game). And, we're some number of cousins removed from to President Obama.
Some quick facts:
- Presidents Day: Third Monday in February (February 18, 2013)
- Presidents Day isn't the official name.
- It used to be called Washinton's Birthday (U.S. First President George Washington's actual birthday: February 22, 1732)
